About La Cantina

French Mexican fusion food we can pretty much guarantee that you have never tasted anything like it before. Created by food gourmet, La Cantina menu is full of flavors. Our set menus for lunch and dinner and "à la carte" menu will make you travel from Mexico to Paris or Oaxaca to Marseille !!

On the menu you will discover "Fondue melted cheese and bechamel with chorizo and french baguette", "Seared scallops in tequila and butter garlic sauce", "Bourguignon beef with chocolate mole sauce" or our "bistro steak served with grilled truffle potatoes".

La Cantina is settled in Ashiya, a gourmet paradise between Kobe and Osaka.

The beautiful organic vegetables of Awaji island, the famous Kobe beef and the freshly catch octopus will be found on the menu.

"La Cantina is a new concept for French and Mexican cuisine."

Executive chef Laurence grew up in the South of France cooking with her grand mother at the family vineyard. She discovered the world of french gastronomy working at the Michelin star restaurant La Feniere in Lourmarin in Provence. She decided to study japanese and japanese cuisine and lived in Matsue Shimane ken for three years.

Then she moved to Tahiti to open her own café and deli shop, after cooking on the island for 17 years she decided to work at sea on mega yacht to learn new techniques and to meet others chefs from all over the world. Her daughter wanted to study in Osaka university so she moved back to Japan with her family.

She joined the kitchen chefs at the Hilton hotel in Umeda Osaka before opening La Cantina in June 2024.

Events and Cooking Class

Every month we will offer cooking classes at La Cantina restaurant to learn about french and Mexican cuisine.

Wine tastings events will be designed to give wine lovers the opportunity to sample a range of wines from France. Wine pairing will also be available on the menu.

Privatize our restaurant : Privatize La Cantina for about 20 people for your birthday or special event we will offer you a choice of different menus and options.
